Residents in Victoria Centre Flats have been supplied with orange bags for all recyclable waste such as paper, newspaper and magazines, cardboard, food and drinks cans, large tins, plastic bottles and plastic tubs, pots and trays.
Every Monday and Thursday, from 7am to midnight, residents can put their orange bags down the chute and Nottingham City Council will then empty the bins and separate the recyclable waste from the orange bags.

As part of Nike's CSR initiative, the company is looking to maximise recycling of its redundant IT and small office electronics from UK based locations. Lancaster based ShP Ltd has agreed with Nike to collect and recycle laptops and other IT equipment with a possible view to including other items such as mobile phones and blackberries.

Students from Nottingham Trent University have been challenged to create a variety of sustainable products as part of a collaborative project with ethical fashion designer, Orsola de Castro. Undergraduate and postgraduate students from courses across the School of Art and Design are involved in the project, which has required them to produce creative items from discarded materials and fabrics.
