Millions upon millions of bottle caps have ended up in our landfills over the years. Now a Calgary man has come up with a creative way to keep some of these caps out of the landfills.

The Renewable House is a new demonstration house that has been designed to illustrate that low cost and low carbon are compatible. Built at the BRE Innovation Park and officially opened at Insite 2009, the Renewable House is a demonstration of the commercial viability of building affordable homes from renewable materials.
The house has been designed to meet Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, with a build cost of £75,000, excluding groundworks and utilities.

St Peter’s School in Aylesford, Kent, educates children from age four to 11. ACTIS Insulation is working with the primary school to help it reach its goal of becoming the UK’s first carbon neutral school. Riverside Waste Machinery is to unveil a new concept for the processing of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) substances, at the UK’s biggest recycling and waste management exhibition.

Thanet Earth is the massive £80 million greenhouse development covering 67 hectares, which will comprise of seven huge glasshouses, an on-site pack-house and a visitors centre.
