Dunweedin Rubber Bark for Play Areas allows schools to create environmentally friendly play areas
Dunweedin’ have devised a new payment scheme to help schools cover the cost of buying its recycled rubber chippings for playgrounds without having to make finance applications to their Local Education Authority.
Dunweedin’s Rubber Bark for Play Areas, allows schools to create attractive, safe play areas, which are also environmentally friendly.
The rubber chippings, which are designed to put an extra ‘spring’ into play areas, are made from 100 per cent recycled tyres, and are approved by the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
Schools will be able to pay for Dunweedin’ products in instalments, agreed to suit them over a period of time.
Dunweedin’s Bob Jones, explained: “With so much red tape involved in funding applications, many schools are unable to cover the costs of upgrading their play areas without a long wait for finding.
“We don’t want schools or children’s safety to suffer so we have drawn up a new payment plan where it is an independent agreement with the school and Dunweedin’ and they don’t have to go through the LEA. There are no catches and the school can agree a payment plan over a period of time that suits them.”
The colourful rubber chippings provide a safe surface, which is playable on all year round – the chippings don’t absorb water, or freeze and dry quickly, lasting ten times longer than bark chippings.
