Practical Installer puts the latest innovations in renewables under the spotlight
At Ecobuild 2010, Practical Installer will put the latest innovations in renewables under the spotlight dispelling the myth that renewable technologies are complicated and showing that, in some cases, they are more straightforward than traditional technologies.
With live and interactive sessions throughout the day, including the latest solar panels being installed on a demonstration roof and experts on hand to show how easy it is to do all the associated pipe work and plumbing, visitors will be shown that renewable really is do-able.
Practical Installer will offer informative demonstrations / hands on displays from the industry’s leading manufacturers throughout the three days of the show. Look out for sessions on solar, heat pumps and water saving technologies offering installers and heating engineers the chance to see a number of installation scenarios. The experts will also be on hand to answer questions and give advice.
With the cost of traditional energy sources constantly on the rise, not to mention the impact our CO2 emissions have on the environment, renewable energy is becoming increasingly important in our everyday lives. Both home owners and businesses are looking to reduce their fuel bills by improving the efficiency of their energy consumption which means looking towards the more sustainable, renewable forms of generating heat and conserving water.
This transition away from traditional forms of heating will offer consumers (& installers) more choice with solutions more tailored to the individual property. Installers will need to be able to offer consumers in depth advice and guidance on the best solution for their property often involving multiple products. Installers will also need to have the skills and knowledge to undertake more complex, integrated installations which will require a broader understanding of areas such as electrical installation and air conditioning.
This is the first time Ecobuild has run dedicated, practical demonstration sessions for installers and Plumb Center welcomes the opportunity to help installers learn more about the next generation of heating technology.
In the solar section, Plumb Center in association with Ploughcroft, will be demonstrating how easy it is to install solar panels and Worcester Bosch, Kingspan, Baxi and Vaillant will showcase the latest thermal solar technology. In the heating section Baxi (biomass/micro CHP), Dimplex/CTC (heat pumps) and Uponor (underfloor heating) will work in partnership to show how the technologies work together to maximum effect.
And, in the water section Kingspan (water harvesting), Ecoplay (greywater recycling) together with water efficient products from Saracen, Mira, Grohe and Cistermiser will work collectively to demonstrate how households and businesses can limit their water consumption by combining technologies in the most effective way.
